4 Ways to Protect Your Business from COVID-19

The growing concerns for the COVID-19 is setting in at alarming rates around the U.S. and it is not to be ignored. Major changes are happening at the macro level such as colleges are closing campuses; schools are closing for weeks; professional sports suspending their season; national conferences are cancelling; restaurants are changing their “eat in and chill” policies; and companies are asking employees to work from home – WOW!

Whether you want to believe it or not, this IS A THING! A cascading effect is happening across all industries. People are limiting human contact at even the micro level, including going out to eat, using co-working space, attending events, going shopping, visiting loved ones and attending school games.

Limiting human movement, limits money movement and when that happens, it changes EVERYTHING. It is now a personal and professional problem for all, no matter if you have a large business or small business. Business owners must think about how to protect themselves, support their employees and conduct business and serve their audience differently – even if it’s temporary – during this time.

One question… how will this affect your business if you are a fitness coach, photographer, planner, event venue, speaker, coach, consultant, etc.? Are you prepared?

If you are not proactively thinking and planning about how to adjust during this time, then you absolutely should be! This is not going away and it’s not the time to sit back and complain about what should be happening or how it should have been handled differently. (Side note: Well, you can talk about that but don’t let it distract you from what you should be focusing on).

This is the time to “shine the light” on your own business and figure out how you can pivot and plan accordingly to remain afloat during this time of crisis. It’s time to integrate multiple revenue streams! Don’t wait until it negatively affects your monthly numbers, figure out now how to maintain them.

Protect your business by thinking about these four areas:

  1. How can you integrate virtual services?
  2. What service(s) can you convert to virtual?
  3. What digital product can you create to sell online to your clients/customers?
  4. Who can you hire to help you create a sustainable plan for your business?

Strategically-made plans help you prepare and pivot gracefully while operating without a plan leaves you frantic, frustrated and exhausted, like running on a hamster wheel with no end in sight. Planning is a critical action step in your business.

Think, plan and start taking action to protect your business today!

So I ask you, how are you going to protect your business from COVID-19 today and beyond? If you need help, let’s chat. I’d love to help you protect your business so you can remain strong and healthy for your clients now and in the future.
