This scenario reminds me of my own pivotal moment back in 2017. After 11 years with a company, my executive role was eliminated unexpectedly. I could have accepted a lower-ranking position, but I had worked too hard to earn my executive role, and I wasn’t willing to let someone else’s “save yourself moment” define my professional future. I stood at a crossroads.
